About this product

The Hitte Fan-Assisted Trench Heating is an effective space heating system either as a powerful yet discrete primary heating system, or, as a fast acting secondary heating system perfect for counteracting downdraught or condensation in highly glazed areas. It operates using piped hot water (LPHW) as the heat source which can be supplied from a conventional hot water boiler, solar energy hot water system or a ground source heat pump.

The HITTE actuator is wired into a 24 V control circuit via the Siemens RDG 260T or 260KN thermostat. The thermostat provides a 24 V output signal when there is a heating or cooling demand. This signal energises the actuator, which then opens the valve. When the demand stops, power is removed and the actuator returns to its default position (typically normally closed).

The wiring follows a standard 24 V DC regulation layout, as shown in the connection diagrams on pages 3–4 of the attached document.

The actuator is connected to the designated output terminals of the thermostat, alongside the 24 V power supply.

Always ensure:

  • The correct 24 V supply is used (never 230 V)
  • Total actuator load does not exceed the thermostat output rating
  • Polarity is observed for DC models
